The Minerals Management Service (MMS) is responsible for the royalty management functions assigned to the Secretary who is required by various laws to manage mineral resources production on Federal and Indian lands, collect the royalties due, and distribute the funds in accordance with those laws. The Report of sales and Royalty Remittance, Form MMS-2014, is used for reporting oil and gas royalties, certain rents, and other lease-related transactions to MMS (e.g., transportation and processing allowances, lease adjustments, and quality and location differentials).

Miscellaneous Actions
The adjustment increase of 32,965 burden hours is due to an increase in the number of responses. The program decrease of 288 burden hours is due to a requirement in the proposed Federal oil rule(68 FR 50087) [proposed 210.53(c)(1) and (2)], which was inadvertently kept on the records. The citation was eliminated in the final rulemaking (69 FR 24959), and MMS never collected the information.
