Hello Rachel, please see below for the data elements for Student Aid on the Wed. Do you know how I can add these PDF files into ROCIS?  Thanks

Hi Sheila, please let me know if you need anything else.  Thank you. PZM

     1.     The IC instrument uploaded into ROCIS simply states "Student Aid on the Web is located at www.studentaid.ed.gov."  We need to have an actual copy of the data elements for which you are requesting clearance.  Websites are subject to change and we need to have a record, so that in 10 years someone could look at our files and know exactly what we approved.

Response: The attachments below contain the lists of the actual data elements. They have not changed.

    2.   ED has submitted this collection as a revision.  What parts of the data collection are you proposing to revise and why?

Response: The 60 day Notice shows the Type of Review as "Extension".

    3.   In several places (in the supporting statement and in ROCIS), you state "only the content has been updated on the Web    site since it was first approved."  What does this mean?

Response:  The content updates would consist of award year changes. Ex: 2006-2007 EFC Calculation.

Has the information collected from respondents changed since the collection was first approved?

Response: No

4. Item 15 of the supporting statement indicates that there has been an increase in the number of times respondents log on to the website.  What does FSA believe the reasons for the increase to be?

Response: Previous figures were estimates due to being a new function. Since launching MyFSA,  a higher than expected (which we are very pleased) user volume are taking advantage of the personal profile functionalities.

5. Why is FSA requesting an almost 1 million hour burden hour decrease?  In light of the fact that respondents are logging on much MORE frequently (200,000 per year to 1,560,825 times per year) we would expect the burden to increase.

Response:  We are requesting an increase from 200,000 to 1,560,825

Sheila -

OMB has the following comments on 1845-0076.  Please respond no later than COB Wednesday 11/22.  Thanks!
The OMB clearance request is for an "Extension" for Student Aid on the Web.

  2. ED has submitted this collection as a revision.  What parts of the data collection are you proposing to revise and why?
The 60 day Notice shows the Type of Review as "Extension".
