40 CFR part 63, subpart AAAAA, applies to owners and operators of each existing and new lime manufacturing plant (LMP) that emits or has the potential to emit any single hazardous air pollutant (HAP) at a rate of 9.07 megagrams (10 tons) or more per year or any combination of HAP at a rate of 22.68 megagrams (25 tons) or more per year from all emission sources at the plant site. This subpart applies to each existing and new lime kilns and their associated coolers, and processed stone handling (PSH) operations systems located at a LMP that is a major source. The information gathered is needed to determine which facilities are subject to the regulation and whether they are in compliance with the standards. Owners/operators are required to submit initial notifications, performance tests, and periodic reports. To demonstrate continuous compliance, plants must conduct repeat performance tests every five years (sixth year after effective date). Semiannual summary reports are also required.
