OMB approves
this generic clearance with the understanding that the information
collected is not meant to be statistically representative of the
consumer population, and that the information will (1) allow CPSC's
Human Factors staff to make more accurate expert judgments about
consumer perceptions related to product use in those cases where
such information is not otherwise available and (2) help identify
areas of future study for Commission consideration. This
information will not be used as a basis for new standards.
