UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE
Economics and Statistics Administration
U.S. Census Bureau
Washington, DC 20233-0001
OFFICE OF THE DIRECTOR
July 10, 2007
Dear Resident:
Several weeks ago, the U.S. Census Bureau sent you a
questionnaire and requested your participation in the
2007 Census Bilingual Form Study. We are conducting this test
to help develop new methods that will make the 2010 Census
easier, more convenient, and less costly for taxpayers. As stated
below, U.S. law requires households to respond. If you have not
yet responded, we encourage you to do so immediately.
It is important that each household respond only once. If you
have already provided your census information, we thank
you — there is no need to provide it again.
Your answers are required and confidential by law (Title 13,
United States Code, Sections 9, 141, 193, and 214). This law
protects your privacy and requires that you provide the
information requested. Only persons sworn to protect Census
Bureau data will have access to the information you
provide — and no one else. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Charles Louis Kincannon
Director, U.S. Census Bureau
