The Committee for Purchase From People Who Are Blind or Severely Disabled was called to appear before Congress on the exorbitant salaries being paid to JWOD/AbilityOne nonprofit agency executives. Based on the realization and to maintain the integrity of the AbilityOne Program the Committee was compelled to set standards for accountability of the nonprofit agencies boards of directors and to establish a benchmark compensation amount for nonprofit agency executives. These new standards are must be met in order to participate in the AbilityOne Program. The standards help ensure that our Government customer is not paying unfair prices due to the high executive compensation.
