PAAT Letter to Program Directors

Dear PAAT Program Director:

This letter invites you to apply for your grant award for the Protection and Advocacy for Assistive Technology (PAAT) program authorized under the Assistive Technology Act of 1998, as amended. This package consists of a letter of application, the PAAT Assurances, and the Certifications Regarding Lobbying; Debarment, Suspension, and Other Responsibility Matters; and Drug-Free Workplace Requirements. When submitted, these materials will constitute your request for PAAT funds for fiscal year (FY) ____.

To request funds, please do the following:

1. Provide all requested information;

2. Sign and date the forms as indicated;

3. Write the cover letter of application to the commissioner on your own letterhead. The copy that we are enclosing is simply a sample to assist you in composing a letter;

4. Enclose the original and one copy of the entire application package;

5. Send all copies of the application package to the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) at: the U.S. Department of Education, RSA, 550 12^th Street, SW, Washington, DC 20202-2800.

To ensure timely review, please submit your application to RSA no later than ____.

In addition, RSA developed a uniform data collection instrument for use by grantees annually. This form is available to grantees and is required 90 days after the close of each fiscal year.
