Subject: FY 2007 FSCS Edit Follow-up

Dear FSCS State Data Coordinator:

Thank you for participating in the data collection for the Public Libraries Survey, Fiscal Year 2007, conducted by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) as part of the Federal-State Cooperative System for Public Library Data. The U.S. Census Bureau continues to process the State data submissions as part of an interagency agreement with IMLS.

I am attaching a file containing our internal edit report identifying items that require your attention. Please review the questionable data and return your corrections and/or comments.

The Francis Keppel Award for timely and accurate submission of data is based on a point system that includes post-submission processing. In order to receive the maximum points for the edit follow-up phase, please respond within two weeks of the date of this e-mail. In order to avoid being disqualified please respond within three weeks. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Note: Any highly questionable data that are not revised or verified as correct by you may be deleted and imputed. We will notify you of any affected data.

This annual survey provides vital information on the status of the nation’s public libraries. We are interested in continuing to improve data quality, and we encourage your ideas and input.

Thank you again for your hard work.
