The written assurance requirement of
License Exception TSR (Technology and Software Under Restriction)
provides greater security for the protection of U.S. origin
technology and software that becomes incorporated into foreign
products. This procedure requires that certain written assurances
be provided by the foreign importer of specific U.S. origin
technology and softwarae to assure that the data is not exported or
reexported to certain destination.

The number of respondents has
been increased from 200 to 500 based on an analysis of 2005 Census
export data. This increase is due to increased U.S. exports of
technical data covered by the written assurance requirement.
