Applicants for federal indemnity under
the Arts & Artifacts Indemnity Act (P.L. 94-158) are required
to submit indemnity applications. Respondents include non-profit,
tax-exempt organizations (primarily museums).
The number of respondents has
increased gradually from previous years. The cost burden for this
information collection is based on average current salaries for
curators and registrars (the positions of applicants who generally
will be completing the Indemnity Application) from fifteen major
art museums. The overall Annual IC Cost Burden of $90,000 is based
on the Annual Number of Responses for this IC and the Annual IC
Time Burden.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that

with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
