Public comments were received on June 28, 2007 and August 1, 2007 from same individual. Comments submitted on both days and CDC responses are below.

No changes were made to the proposed project based on these comments, as the public comment did not relate to the utility and scope as proposed.

my comments stand on this issue. do we know if the cases are from illegal immigrants who have sneaked into this country who should not be getting federal tax dollars for their issues?  and with a population of 300 million people, those 800,000 cases reprsent far less problems than the numbers of babies born with autism in the united states, which should represent far more funding. these endless surveys do no thing.

We appreciate your comments. Annually, there are approximately 800,000 people infected with gonorrhea and total estimated annual cost to the U.S. is $1 billion.  Currently, there is only one drug class left that is available and recommended for treatment of  gonorrhea, the cephalosporins. Therefore, ongoing monitoring of GC resistance is  still critical to ensure appropriate treatment of gonorrhea and to reduce disease burden.

THIS IS HARDLY A MAJOR OR LEADING HEALTH ISSUE FOR THE U.S PRESENTLY.

AUTISM IS. GET YOUR GUYS WORKING ON SOMETHING THAT WILL HELP STOP 1 OUT OF 94 BABIES BEING AFFLICTED WITH AUTISM. THE FUTURE DEPENDS ON THIS.

GONOCOCCOL WAS INVESTIGATED FIFTY OR MORE YEARS AGO IN FULL. IT DOESNT NEED SPENDING AMERICAN TAX DOLLARS ON THIS WELL RESEARCHED ISSUE. THE "MONITORING" CAN BE STOPPED.

I MAKE THE COBURN REPORT PART OF MY COMMENTS ON THE WORK OF THE CDC. IT SHOWS HOW THIS AGENCY IS VERY MISMANAGED AND SEEMS COMPLETELY OUT OF TOUCH. THEY GO ON JUNKET CONFERENCES AND HIRE PROSTITUTES AT THEIR CONFERENCES. OUT OF TOUCH IS CDC. AND MISMANAGED. CLEAN UP THE ACT PLEASE.
