HRSA is publishing a Notice of
Proposed Rulemaking to revise and consolidate the criteria and
processes for designating medically underserved populations (MUPs)
and health professional shortage areas (HPSAs). These designations
are used by a wide variety of programs operated by the Federal
Government. Sections 5.3 and 5.5 of the proposed rule contain
information collection requirements as defined under the PRA. HRSA
is submitting this ICR for approval of the burden associated with
the submission of criteria for consideration under the proposed
process for designation.
