Non-Substantial Change to Form FS-6500-229

The Forest Service is proposing a non-substantial change to form FS-6500-229, part of Information Collection 0596-0080 - Volunteer Application for Natural Resource Agencies. The current approval for this form expires October 2010.
The revision to the form is necessary due to Forest Service reimbursement processes. The use of convenience checks to reimburse volunteers for miscellaneous expenses will be discontinued on March 31, 2008. All requests for reimbursement will be processed electronically after that date. Changes to the form are due to changes in format requested by the Forest Service Budget and Finance Division.
The format changes do not increase or decrease burden hours or change information currently requested from volunteers.
