In an attempt to ease the burden on the public, and automate the process by which OFAC processes "Request for Release of Blocked Property" license requests, OFAC has redesigned OMB publicly available form No: 1505-0170. The redesign includes refined instructions, removal of several data fields deemed unnecessary, and a re-ordering of the fields that remain on the form into a more logical and efficient presentation and flow. Additionally, the applicant will now have the option of completing and submitting a bar-coded PDF fillable form which will reduce time spent on data entry, assure 100 percent accuracy of data entry into the system, and as such may result in quicker turnaround of the applicant’s request.
