Attachment 3: Notice of Visit Letter
2008 Survey of Compact of Free Association (COFA) Migrants
Dear Resident:
Sorry I missed you.
The U.S. Census Bureau is conducting a survey to determine the impact of the Compacts of Free Association (COFA). The U.S. Census Bureau chose your address, not you, as part of a randomly selected sample. I stopped by today to complete a survey questionnaire for your household, but you were not home. If you would like to provide the information over the phone – it generally takes about 17 minutes – you can telephone me at the number listed below. Otherwise, I’ll stop back in the next day or two.
I want to emphasize that any information you give me will be kept confidential. By law, the Census Bureau cannot publish or release to anyone any information that can identify you or your household (Title 13, United States Code, Section 9). The results of this survey will be used to disburse funds that will help defray the costs of increased demands on local health, educational, social or public safety resources.
The success of this survey depends on you.
Thank you.
