and supplies in the United States.

When entering your figures on the original report,
please be sure to report the information in the correct
columns. These are:

manufacturing the products covered by this survey are
requested to complete a separate report form for each
location. If you have not received a separate form for
each of your establishments, please call the contact
shown on the report form or write to the U.S. Census
Bureau for additional forms.

3. Definitions
The product detail for this survey, as shown in the
Reference List, is defined according to standard
nomenclature for this industry.

4. Comparability
Report in these columns the quantity and selling value,
f.o.b. plant, of all products made in this establishment
which were physically shipped from this establishment
during the year. Report quantity in thousands of units
except where otherwise specified. Report value in
thousands of dollars.

Data reported in this survey should correspond to data
reported in the Economic Census - Manufacturing Sector
form. The sum of values for item codes shown in column
(a) should correspond to dollar values reported under
product codes indicated in column (b) below.

Include products shipped on consignment, whether or
not sold at the end of the year. Deduct returned goods.
Report the quantity and value of all of the products
manufactured by this establishment and shipped
during the report year. Include "private brand" units
made by you for sale to other companies as well as
your own company brand units. Do not include
products purchased by you for resale without further
manufacture or assembly into other products.
For value of shipments, report the net selling value,
f.o.b. plant, of your total shipments of each product
listed. The reported figures should represent values,
f.o.b. plant, after discounts and allowances and should
not include freight charges or excise taxes. If freight
charges are prepaid by you, deduct these charges
from the values reported for each product. Estimate if
necessary.
Include products transferred to other establishments
by your company (such as other manufacturing plants
or separate sales branches). Their "value" should be
the nearest approximation to the commercial selling
value, f.o.b. plant, and not the cost of production.
