What is the purpose of this study?	The purpose of this study is to learn about the teaching of reading in adult education classrooms.
Who is supporting the study?	The U.S. Department of Education.
For whom do you work? Who is JBL Associates?	JBL Associates is an independent research company located in Bethesda, Maryland. We will be conducting interviews with you and other participants over the next year.
How was I selected?	Every student in this class is being asked to participate.
What kind of information will be collected?	We are looking at reading skills, how you came to enroll in this program, how you feel about solving problems, and how you feel about yourself.
How long will the session take?	You will meet with a data collector for about two hours.
How is this information going to be used? By whom?	All of the information that we collect is confidential, and learners’ responses are protected under the Privacy Act. We will report the results to the sponsors of the study, and none of the participants will be identified by name.
