Rice and Cotton Price Profile Surveys
We have added a simple Yes/No question to the cotton coop questionnaire (# 10) that helps with the usefulness of the questionnaire. When revising the questionnaires, it was discovered that the older versions of these profile questionnaires were inadvertently uploaded and submitted as a part of the renewal submission that has subsequently been approved. We had revised these particular questionnaires to standardize them (questions #4 through #17 from the approved “Prices Received by Farmers Operation Profile for Grains, Oilseeds and Pulse Crops” and the “Prices Received by Farmers for Peanuts Operation Profile”) with the other monthly questionnaires and the annual profile questionnaires (grain and pulse crops, peanuts, and hay) used by NASS.
As a part of this change we are submitting the four revised standardized questionnaires: Prices Received by Farmers - Operation Profile for Rice Private Merchant, Prices Received by Farmers – Operation Profile for Rice Cooperatives, Prices Received by Farmers for Upland Cotton - Private Merchant Operation Profile, and Prices Received by Farmers for Upland Cotton – Agricultural Cooperative Operation Profile, with the one added Yes/No question.
There are no changes with the sample size, publicity materials, or respondent burden. These profiles are conducted once at the start of each sample year. The profiles need to be available for use in August, 2008, so we can begin using the new samples in September, 2008. Therefore, we are asking for an expedited approval.
