Dear Payroll Manager:

Each year the Bureau of Labor Statistics randomly selects a new sample for the Current Employment Statistics (CES) survey. The probability of being included in the sample depends on the size of the firm and the industry. Selecting a new sample allows our estimates to accurately reflect changes in the structure of the Nation's economy.

Many firms continue to be eligible for inclusion in the sample each year; however, others are replaced by newly selected firms. In order to minimize government reporting burden on firms, we are notifying participating companies that were not selected for inclusion in this year's sample.

This letter serves as your notice that your firm was not re-selected for participation in CES. We greatly appreciate your past cooperation and willingness to provide us with data. At some future date we may contact you again about participating in the CES survey.

If you have any questions, please call 1-dccphone.

Sincerely yours,

dcccntct

Data Collection Center Manager
