DEFINITIONS



Indoor fixtures include all portable and hardwired fixtures intended for indoor use. Fixtures in this category would include those that are interior ceiling mounted, wall-mounted, recessed, suspended, torchiere and non-torchiere portable, under-cabinet, furniture/cabinet integrated, and architectural.

Outdoor fixtures include all line-voltage fixtures that are generally attached directly to a residential building or on top of a pole, and are used to illuminate walkways, entrances, and other areas around a residence. All house-mounted and pole-mounted (post-top) line voltage fixtures fall within this category. Outdoor fixtures must be rated for wet or damp locations.
