The Department of Energy requires this information in order to be in compliance with Section 1405 of Energy Policy Act of 2005. The proposed collection will allow respondents to submit applications for a National Priority Project Designation (NPPD) as called for by the Energy Policy Act of 2005. The purpose of the NPPD is to recognize organizations whose work has advanced the field of renewable energy technology and contributed to North American energy independence.
