Explanation of Non-Substantive Change
Background:
SSA uses form SSA-2930 as part of the quality review process of benefits applications. This process enables us to 1) establish a national payment accuracy rate for all benefits cases in payment status and 2) serve as a source of information regarding problem areas in the Retirement and Survivors Insurance (RSI) and Disability Insurance (DI) programs.
Change:
We are planning to add 300 respondents to the burden for this collection.
Justification:
These 300 new respondents will be applicants who submitted an electronic iClaim application (included as part of 0960-0618). The response time will be the same as for all other SSA-2930 respondents, 30 minutes. Accordingly, the revised burden for the SSA-2930 component of this Information Collection Request is as follows:
Previous: 1,500 x 30/60 = 750 hours
New: 1,800 x 30/60 = 900 hours
