Dear Horticultural Specialist:
Every 10 years, the U.S. Department of Agriculture conducts the Census of Horticultural
Specialties. This census provides the only complete, consistent data on floriculture, nursery,
and specialty crop production in the United States. Government and industry rely on this
information to develop technologies and programs that impact your life and your community.
Your participation is vitally important.
All operations who receive this census are required by law (Title 7, U.S. Code) to complete
and return it. This same law protects the confidentiality of your responses. Results are
reported in summary form, ensuring no individual information is shared.
Please respond by February 5, 2010. If you have questions or need assistance, call (888)
424-7828. You may need to provide your Census Identification number that is printed on the
mailing label of your report form.
