We are enclosing an application for registration as a Tomato Repacker during the 20XX-20XX season, as required under Marketing Order No. 966. Application for this registration must be done annually.


Upon receipt and approval of your application, a new Tomato Repackers Certificate for the 20XX-20XX season will be mailed to you.


We would also like to remind you that certified tomato repackers are authorized to resort, regrade and repack previously inspected tomatoes only. Purchasing field run tomatoes, tomatoes in used boxes or tomatoes that have not been inspected will result in cancellation of your certified repacker permit. You are also reminded that tomatoes shipped out of the regulated area must be in new boxes.

Note: The following statements are made in accordance with the Privacy Act of 1974 (5 U.S.C. 552a) and the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995. The authority for requesting this information to be supplied on this form is the Agricultural Marketing Agreement Act of 1937, Secs. 1-19, 48 Stat. 31, as amended, (7 U.S.C. 601-674). Furnishing the requested information is necessary for the administration of the marketing order program.


According to the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, an agency may not conduct or sponsor, and a person is not required to respond to a collection of information unless it displays a valid OMB control number. The valid OMB control number for this information collection is 0581-0178. The time required to complete this information collection is estimated to average five minutes per response, including the time for reviewing instructions, searching existing data sources, gathering and maintaining the data needed, and completing and reviewing the collection of information.

Gentlemen:


Pursuant to your request of this date, we are enclosing Certified Tomato Repackers Certificate No. ______ for the 20XX-20XX season. Only previously inspected tomatoes resorted, regraded and repacked by a handler who has been designated as a "Certified Tomato Repacker" by the Committee are exempt from the tomato grade classifications except for minimum grades; the size classifications except that tomatoes shall be over 2-9/32 inches in diameter; and the container weight requirements; if such tomatoes comply with the inspection requirements.


Please display this Certificate in a prominent manner at your place of business. A copy of this letter is going to the Inspection Service and will be their authority to make the necessary notation of exemption.
