RE:

RESERVEPOOL HOLDING COSTS

In accordance with Section 993.159 of Federal Marketing Order No. 993, you are requested to
compute your reserve pool holding costs. The attached PMC Schedule 1 lists the factors to
consider in computing your reserve pool holding costs along with a worksheet for your
convemence.
This information will be used to compute a handler reimbursement payment for prunes held in a
reserve pool during the next crop year. Please notify the Prune Marketing Committee with your
pool holding costs prior to June 1. All completed computations received will assist the
Committee in the recommendation of a payment rate at the mid-June Supply Management
Subcommittee meeting.
This payment rate shall be in full payment for the costs incurred in connection with, but not
limited to the following services: Inspection, receiving, storing, grading, fumigation, and
handling. The costs include, but are not limited to those listed on PMC Schedule 1.
The payment rate for holding reserve pool prunes was previously limited to $25.00 per natural
condition ton, but a recent rule change has given the PMC the flexibility to compute and
announce a rate that is based on actual costs. This will enable you to be more fairly compensated
for your services when funds are available from a reserve pool.
Please contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
