Data from this survey are used to compute the index of Prices Paid by Farmers. This index measures price trends and changes that affect farm production input costs. Specifically, data from this survey are used for:


  1. Evaluation of Farm policy and legislation.

  2. Updating cost of production estimates used in determination of net farm income.

  3. Computation of Parity Prices for selected agricultural commodities.


Individual reports are kept confidential. Response to this survey is voluntary and not required by law. However, your cooperation is very important in order to estimate these prices accurately. Please mail your report promptly in the enclosed postage paid envelope.

INSTRUCTIONS

 Please report current prices in effect for all commodities except fall seeded wheat. Report fall seed wheat prices in effect during the fall of 2008.

 Report prices for the grade and quality MOST COMMONLY SOLD to farmers in your community. Include any technology fees.

 Report an average price, not a range of prices.

 Exclude sales tax.

 Include seed treatments.
