Grant Initiative Abstract: Through this solicitation, the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) will identify and develop strategies to increase the capacity of small businesses and communities, including underrepresented and historically excluded communities, to employ youth and adults with disabilities.


Under this solicitation, the ODEP anticipates that up to $1.65 million will be awarded to consortia to fund three cooperative agreements ranging from $500,000 to $550,000. The goal of Add Us In will be accomplished through the competitive funding of consortia tasked to design, implement, and evaluate innovative systems models that support competitive employment opportunities for people with disabilities within targeted businesses. The anticipated period of performance for these grants will be from September 15, 2011 through September 14, 2013. Up to three years of additional funding may be available, subject to the Department deciding to exercise the additional year(s) of funding based upon assessment of satisfactory grantee performance and the appropriation of available funds.


Information Collection Burden: The DOL expects approximately 25 applications from an equal number of applicants, and the burden per application will be 20 hours with no capital, start-up, maintenance, or operational costs. Fifty percent of the applications are expected to be filed electronically.


Electronic Capability: The grant will be made available on grants.gov.


Assurances of confidentiality: This grant solicitation does not offer applicants assurances of confidentiality.


Special circumstances: This information collection complies with 5 CFR 1320.5.
