Family And Cultural Influences on Talking Strategies

Attention African American Moms with Children between the ages of 12 to 15 years old:

We need your help! FACTS is a research study on how parents talk to their children about sex.

We need about two hours of your time to talk about these issues in a focus group (a small meeting) with 6 to 11 other moms.

The focus group will take place at California State University, Dominguez Hills on a Saturday morning. If you would like to know more about this study, please contact Dr. Carl Sneed, (310) 243-3463, [email protected] or Ena Valladares, (310) 243-3037. If we cannot talk when you call us, we may ask you to leave a number where we can call you back.

In order to be in the focus group, you need to have a child between the ages of 12 to 15 years old enrolled at the Boys & Girls Club. If you take part in the focus group, you will be paid $50. Not everyone will be able to be in this study, so please call us soon.

Thank you!!
