The Commission imposes this
recordkeeping requirement to ensure that independent LECs providing
international, interexchange services through a separate affiliate
are in compliance with the Communications Act of 1934, as amended,
and with Commission policies and regulations.
The Commission is reporting a
significant increase in the total annual burden hours and annual
costs. This increase of 500 additional respondents were not
accounted for in the previous submission. And on-going operation
and maintenance costs were not included. With this submission, the
Commission is correcting these inaccuracies and estimates. There is
no change in the recordkeeping requirements.
