Dear Producer,
Your operation is one of approximately 10,000 selected to participate in the annual Bee and
Honey Inquiry, conducted by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Agricultural
Statistics Service (NASS).
This national survey focuses on producers with 5 or more colonies and gathers information on
number of colonies, honey production, stocks, and prices. NASS will publish the survey results
in its annual Honey report, to be released on February 26, 2010.
For your convenience, we are offering you several reporting options:
¾ You can fill out and mail back the enclosed survey form.
¾ You can follow the instructions on the reverse side of this letter for using our secure online
response system.
If we do not receive your response by December 28, a NASS representative will contact you by
telephone and help you complete the survey at that time.
Please be assured that your response will be kept completely confidential, as required by federal
law. NASS safeguards the privacy of all respondents, ensuring that no individual operation or
producer can be identified.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation and support of our programs.
Sincerely,
Carol C. House
