PART II. VALUE OF PROTECTING (PROJECT) SMALL BOAT HARBOR

10. The Corps of Engineers is trying to determine the value of the boating facility at (project) Small Boat Harbor. It is important for us to know how current slip holders value the use of slips and moorings at the harbor. Presently, all wet storage berths at (project) Small Boat Harbor are occupied. The existing facilities consist of:

* Approximately ____ wet storage spaces (slips or berths).

* Approximately ____ moorings.

* ____ Boat launch facilities with approximately ____ launch lanes for trailered boats.

* Ample parking areas providing slip renters and auto/boat‑trailer spaces for launch ramp users.

* A restaurant, bait shop, marine supplies store, and public restrooms.

The existing breakwater is deteriorating from ice, wind and waves from storms. If the breakwater is not rehabilitated a large storm may cause a major breach which would jeopardize the boats docked in the harbor. The proposed project would provide armor stone protection to the lakeward side of the existing breakwater and will be constructed at ___ feet above low water datum and at an average crest width of ___ feet.

In order to repair or replace the existing breakwater, how much more would you be willing to pay above your (year) slip cost per season to rent a slip at (PROJECT NAME), knowing that if you bid too low you could lose your slip there?

Circle the maximum additional amount you would pay from the list below:

$ 2500 $ 2000 $1800 $ 1600 $ 1400

$ 1200 $ 1000 $ 900 $ 800 $ 700

$ 600 $ 550 $ 500 $ 450 $ 400

$ 350 $ 325 $ 300 $ 275 $ 250

$ 225 $ 200 $ 175 $ 150 $ 125

$ 100 $ 75 $ 50 $ 25 $ 0

If the amount you would pay per season is not shown on the list

above, please write in the amount here.

$______________

VALUE OF BOAT STORAGE

11. High construction costs have limited the number of wet storage spaces that are available in this area. Suppose that all___of the current spaces at (PROJECT NAME) were going to be auctioned off to boaters who bid the highest dollar amount to rent a slip at (PROJECT NAME) Small Boat Harbor. How much more would you be willing to pay above your (year) slip cost per season to rent a slip at (PROJECT NAME), knowing that if you bid too low you could lose your slip there?

Circle the maximum additional amount you would pay from the list below:

$ 2500 $ 2000 $1800 $ 1600 $ 1400

$ 1200 $ 1000 $ 900 $ 800 $ 700

$ 600 $ 550 $ 500 $ 450 $ 400

$ 350 $ 325 $ 300 $ 275 $ 250

$ 225 $ 200 $ 175 $ 150 $ 125

$ 100 $ 75 $ 50 $ 25 $ 0

If the amount you would pay per season is not shown on the list

above, please write in the amount here.
