Section 90.607 requires certain
applicants requesting 800 MHz facilities to furnish a list of any
other licensed facilities they hold within 40 miles of the applied
for base station. This information is used to determine if an
applicant's proposed system is necessary in light of communications
facilities it already owns. Such a determination helps the
Commission to equitably distribute limited spectrum and prevents
spectrum hoarding. The information is collected only once - upon
initial license application.
the Commission is requesting a
decrease in burden which is due to an adjustment of the number of
respondents/responses. Since this was last submitted to OMB for
review, the Commission is now reporting 5,743 fewer
respondents/responses. This estimate is according to data collected
in the Universal Licensing System (ULS) database.
