If you recently submitted your 2009 On-Farm Energy Production Survey, thank you for your
participation. Your response will ensure that America’s farmers and ranchers receive
recognition for the environmental benefits they provide. If you have not yet responded, it is
not too late.
This survey, about the use of wind turbines, solar panels, anaerobic digesters and other
alternative energy sources, will provide decision makers and the public with factual
information about on-farm energy production. This information is greatly needed, given the
growing national interest in energy efficiency and related issues.
For your convenience, you can complete the survey via the Internet, using our secure Webbased response system. Responding online will not only save you time, but will save the
government money on return postage and data entry. Simply go to www.agcensus.usda.gov
and select “Respond Online.”
Please respond within 14 days. As a reminder, your response to the On-Farm Energy
Production Survey is required by law (Title 7, U.S. Code). This same law protects the
