The undersigned hereby applies for permission to dispose of substandard prunes, to the person, and for the
usage shown below:
The undersigned agrees, in the event this application is for a nonhuman use, to supply the Committee with a
legible copy of the applicable biJI of lading or truck receipt pertaining to each shipment of substandard
prunes to be made under the Committee's approval number granted upon this application, and to submit or
cause to be submitted to the Committee a "Converter's Certificate of Nonhuman Usage of Dried Prunes",
Form PMC 2.7 promptly upon completion of usage of the prunes.

INSTRUCTIONS: Prior to making any shipment of the following qualities of prunes, handlers are
required to file a written application on Fonn PMC 2.2 with the Committee for permission to make
such shipmentand receive the Committee'sapprovalthereof on Fonn 2.3:

Approval will not be granted for the pitting of substandardprunes. Application for the maceration of
substandardprunes into a product wherein they lose their fonn and character as prunes by pitting or a
process subsequent to pitting will be approved if they specify that such conversion will take place on
the handler's premises. Such approvalswill be subjectto the surveillanceof the inspector.
Non-French prunes failing to meet the size requirementsof §993.50 (c) of the Marketing Order. as
Amended. are. by definition, substandardprunes.
AUTHORITY:
This report is required by law (7 U.S.C. 608 (d), 7CFR §993.49 (c), and 7CFR §993.50 (c) and (e) and
7CFR §993.108, §993.149 (d). and 7CFR §993.150 (e)(l)(ii).
FAILURE TO REPORT can result in a fine afoot less that $50.00 or more than $5,000 for each such violation and each
day during which such violation continues shall be deemed a separate violation.
This infonnation is required to obtain authority from the Committee to dispose of substandard prunes and it will be used
for that purpose.
According to the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995. an agency may not conduct or sponsor, and a person is not
required to respond to a collection of infonnation tmless it displays a valid OMB control ownber. The valid OMB
control nwnber for this information collection is 0581-0178. The time required to complete this infonnation
collection is estimated to average l5 minutes per response, including the time for reviewmg instructions., searching
existing data sources, gathering and maintaining the data needed, and completing and reviewing the collection of
information. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) prohibits discrimination in all its programs and activities
