About a month ago, we sent you a questionnaire about National Forests and Grasslands in this region and how they should be managed. Many people have filled out and returned their questionnaires. But as of Month day, we haven’t heard from you.

The issues we ask about are real and the Forest Service will make decisions one way or the other. Those decisions will affect many people in the Southwestern Region. Better decisions can be made if the Forest Service has input from a wide range of people. In order for the survey to provide accurate information about what residents of the Southwestern Region, as a group, think about National Forests and Grasslands and how they should be managed, we need to hear from all different kinds of people. It doesn’t matter whether you use the National Forests and Grasslands a lot or you never set foot on a national forest or grassland. We need to hear from you. Your answers about what you do and what you think are important because they represent the views of other people like yourself.

A copy of the questionnaire is enclosed in case you don’t still have the one we sent before. Please fold your completed questionnaire and return it in the enclosed postage-paid envelope as soon as you can. Try to answer all the questions as best you can because incomplete questionnaires detract from the value of the data. Everything you tell us is confidential; only the compiled results will be reported. Each questionnaire is numbered to help us keep track of returns. Your name and address will never be connected with the completed questionnaire.

A page of questions you might have about this survey is included along with our answers. If you have more questions, please feel free to contact our Project Manager, Michael Hand. His address and phone number are at the bottom of the Questions & Answers page.

Thank you in advance for your time and effort in completing the questionnaire. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Robert Berrens Daniel McCollum
