A couple weeks ago, Harv Forsgren, the Regional Forester for the Southwestern Region of the Forest Service sent you a letter telling you about a survey that we’re doing in the region.

Completing the questionnaire will take some time and effort on your part, but the information is needed by the Forest Service to make plans and decisions about how to manage the National Forests and Grasslands in this region. Your response is completely voluntary; but we hope you agree that National Forests and Grasslands are important and that you will take this opportunity to give your input and opinions about how they should be managed.

You are part of a scientifically chosen sample of Southwestern Region residents. For this survey to be successful we need to hear from all types of people, whether they use the National Forests and Grasslands every day or not at all. Your answers about what you do and what you think are important because they represent the views of other people like yourself.

So far, we have not received your response to the web version of the survey. You still have the option of completing the survey on-line. The web address (URL) and unique user ID shown below will allow you to take the survey online.

If you would rather not respond via the web site, please use the enclosed questionnaire to respond by mail. Please fold your completed questionnaire and return it in the enclosed postage-paid envelope by Month, day. Each questionnaire is numbered to help us keep track of returns. Your name and address will never be connected with the completed questionnaire. Completion and return of the survey will constitute your consent to participate in this study.
