Truck Driver Work and Compensation Survey
US DOT Volpe National Transportation Systems Center
The Volpe National Transportation Systems Center, under contract to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, is conducting a survey of commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers to understand what you do and how you are paid. You were randomly selected to receive this letter because you hold a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
The FMCSA is responsible for ensuring your driving safety, and they are interested in understanding the effect of their rules. We request your help in a survey designed to collect information on your work experience, employment history, work schedule, and pay.
The information you provide will be used for statistical purposes only; no personal identifying information is required. The survey should take no longer than 15 minutes for you to complete. When you have completed the survey, please return it to the Volpe Center in the enclosed pre-addressed and postage-paid envelope. Also, please complete and send back the response card separately so that we can send you a $10 gift card to thank you for your participation.
The survey is due by <date TBD (approximately 6 weeks after survey is sent out)>.
