This change lists form code numbers applicable to each type of EO applying for
extension, in lieu of checkboxes. Form will expand electronic filing capability of all
Forms 8868. This is in support of the 80 percent e-file goal established by the
Restructuring and Reform Act of 1998 (RRA98). Changes will reduce correspondence with
the filer and IRS resources used. Changes will bring Form 8868 format in line with
Form 7004, Application for Automatic Extension of Time to File Certain Business
Income Tax, Information, and Other Returns.
