Agricultural Resource
Management Survey (ARMS)
Just about every federal policy and program that
affects U.S. farmers and farm families is based
on information from the Agricultural Resource
Management Survey (ARMS). ARMS is the U.S.
Department of Agriculture’s primary source of
information on the production practices,
resource use and economic well-being of
America’s farm households.

BETTER DATA =
BETTER DECISIONS

For the first time, broilers at the
grower level will be a target
commodity for ARMS.

ARMS will benefit the broiler industry by:
• Giving U.S. broiler meat producers the opportunity
to set the record straight about the issues that affect
them – and to ensure that policies and programs are
based on accurate, real-world data.
• Providing the broiler industry with important
baseline data that will be a valuable tool when
mapping out future business strategies and when
planning responses to potential disease outbreaks
and other adverse events.
• Keeping USDA, Congress, farm groups, agribusiness
and others who make decisions that shape the future
of U.S. agriculture abreast of vital data about the
broiler industry.

Beginning in late January,
selected broiler growers will be
contacted by local representatives from USDA’s National
Agricultural Statistics Service
(NASS) to participate in ARMS.
Your cooperation ensures that
decisions affecting you, your
family, your business and your
community are based on the
facts, straight from the source.
