Dear Resident:
Your household has been randomly selected to participate in an important research study about plans to restore the Klamath River Basin in Oregon and California. Even if you have never heard of the Klamath River, your opinions are very important to us. This study is funded by the U.S. Department of the Interior and is being conducted by RTI International.
In a few days, you will receive an envelope containing a survey and information about the Klamath River Basin. We will also enclose a token of our appreciation with the survey, to thank you in advance for your participation. Please take a moment to complete and return the survey to us when you receive it.
Like many river basins across the U.S., the Klamath is under stress due to population growth, pollution, and competing demands for its water. Government officials must make difficult decisions about what to do and how much to spend, if anything, on improving conditions in the Klamath River Basin. Understanding the views of households like yours will help the government choose the best option.
Thank you for your participation
Sincerely,
Benjamin Simon
