Assessing programmatic efforts and technical assistance needs of WISEWOMAN programs

ADVANCE/INTRODUCTORY NOTICE E-MAIL

Dear WISEWOMAN [Program Managers],

As you know, CDC is working in collaboration with ICF International to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the WISEWOMAN program. The goal of the Year 4 evaluation is to assess how program characteristics may be associated with involvement in specified program activities.

We would like to invite you to participate in a Web-based survey to provide information to help reach a better understanding of program characteristics that may be related to different levels of involvement in certain program activities. Data gathered from the Year 4 Web-based survey will be combined by ICF evaluation staff with data from prior evaluation surveys, program documents, and MDEs. This information will be used to assess relative levels of involvement with program activities across all 21 funded programs. Please note that programs’ assessed levels of involvement will not be used to reward or penalize programs.

The survey will be administered in two phases.

  • Part I: Part I of the survey will focus on frequency and types of training at screening sites; frequency and types of training of LSI providers; and specific characteristics of LSI providers and LSI delivery. You will receive a web link to Part I of the survey within one week. Part I should take approximately 35 minutes to complete.

  • Part II: You will receive Part II of the survey in approximately one month. Part II will focus on strategies to address the needs of priority populations; program administration and quality assurance; and rescreen and referral practices. Part II will take approximately 25 minutes to complete.

The survey, provided to you as a SurveyMonkeyTM Web survey, is designed to allow you to save responses and resume completion at a subsequent time. You also will be able to share the specific URL provided to allow additional program staff to answer certain questions. Please note that other staff would be able to view all responses provided by you previously, and you are welcome to complete the survey yourself, obtaining information for your staff when necessary. Responses provided to this survey are considered those of individual WISEWOMAN programs—not those of individuals—and all responses provided will be maintained securely by ICF Macro staff. All responses provided to CDC will be in aggregate—across programs—and without linking specific responses to the programs that provide them. . Please feel free to contact me via email at [email protected], if you have questions about this request.

Thank you for in advance for your willingness to participate.
