Through the Native American CDFI Assistance Program, the CDFI Fund will provide technical assistance to CDFIs already serving Native American communities as well as technical assistance to help Native American Communities form new CDFIs.
The CDFI Fund estimates the number of respondents based on the number of applicants under the 2010 Native American CDFI Assistance (NACA) program that would be eligible to apply to the NACA Program, the growth in the number of Native CDFIs, increased appropriated fuding, and the results of a vigorous and successful outreach program.
Also, the burden per Native CDFI has increased because they have become more complicated in the past few years. New products and services, development of strategic approaches to the target market and implementing community development tracking systems have been introduced. This additional knowledge requires more time to compile the information and describe in the application's narrative.
The 5,400 hour increase is attributed to:
Â2,600 hours due to the increase of the number of responses from 40 to 80 (adjustment), and
Â2,800 hours due to the additional reporting requirements (program change), resulting in an increase burden to respondent from 65 hours to 100 hours.
Previous approval of 2,600 hours + 5,400 hours requested = 8,000.
