Attached is a subproject package/10-day letter for 2011 pilot/special studies under the generic National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) (Generic clearance OMB 0920-0237).
The project describes plans to conduct the following:
Examination Center Component Testing
Feasibility Study to Identify Physical Activity and Fitness Tests for Children and Adolescents for Inclusion in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) (ages 3-15)
Oral Health – Dental Fluorosis Imaging/Examination Feasibility Study (ages 12-16)
Laboratory data collection
24 Hour Urine Sodium Specimen Collection Pilot (20 years and older)
NHANES 2005-2010 Follow-up Study
Birth Certificate Linkage Study - NHANES 2005-2010 Children (ages 5-10)
The total number of burden hours for the summary project is 2,038 hours. This time was already budgeted and approved in line 2. - special study/pretest participants, of the original submission. No additional burden is sought. The number of respondents is 939, with 133 of the 24 Hour Urine respondents participating twice. This results in 1072 total responses. The amount of time per participant varies by test component.
