1513-0002 JUSTIFICATION TTB F 5000.9
TTB received a number of complaints from the public regarding the existing form TTB F 5000.9. They complained that the current form does not allow enough space for them to complete the form electronically, despite several attempts by TTB to correct the fillable fields. They were forced to print the form, complete it by hand or use a typewriter which was often no longer available.
In response to these complaints, TTB has redesigned the form to allow adequate space for users to complete it electronically or by hand. TTB added category headings to better clarify the information that we are requesting, and we added numbers to each box and changed the flow of the information slightly to follow the natural progression of the user. We also added “LLC” in boxes 1, parenthetical phrase, 32, and 33, to more clearly identify this alternative business type. TTB is requesting approval of the new format of this form. We believe that this revision will resolve the space issues and make this form easier to complete. Since we are collecting the same information, we do not believe that the burden hours will change.
