Attachment D: SOTA LETTER OF SUPPORT

Dear Opioid Treatment Program Director:

I am writing to encourage you to participate in the 2011 Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) Survey sponsored by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA) Center for Behavioral Health Statistics and Quality (CBHSQ), in conjunction with the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT). This survey is being administered in conjunction with the 2011 National Survey of Substance Abuse Treatment Services (N-SSATS).

Your participation is important. The OTP Survey is designed to collect data specific to Opioid Treatment Programs, including the types of treatments and services available, staffing, patient physical and mental health issues, and access to care. This information is important to us at the state level for planning and evaluation purposes. For example, the information from the OTP Survey will help us identify gaps in the treatment services available statewide and focus our planning to better match services to patient needs. Survey data will also be used to update SAMHSA’s “Medication-Assisted Treatment for Opioid Addiction State Profiles”.

The survey is designed for easy and efficient completion on the Internet. You can access the survey by logging on to https://survey.nssats.com. Please log on and complete the survey as soon as possible.
