The Teacher Incentive Fund (TIF) is a
competitive grant program. The purpose of the TIF program is to
support projects that develop and implement performance-based
compensation systems (PBCSs) for teachers and principals in order
to increase educator effectiveness and student achievement in
high-need schools. The Department will use the data collected
through the application process to award discretionary grants. The
grants will be reviewed through a peer review process.
During the FY 11 competition,
the Department is not holding an evaluation competition and removed
requirements pertaining to the evaluation competition from the
application package. This resulted in a reduction of 100 total
annual hours. The removal of the evaluation requirements is the
only change to the application package impacting burden. The number
of respondents and responses has not changed.
