B. Collections of Information Employing Statistical Methods

1. Respondent Universe and Sampling Methods

The proposed information collection activity is a request for a benefit, and no sampling is performed.


2. Procedures for the Collection of Information

Sample printouts of the Standard Application for Respirator Certification V.7 and V.8 are attached.

3. Methods to Maximize Response Rates and Deal with No Response

Response is voluntary, and is a request for benefits. The application is readily and freely available.

4. Tests of Procedures or Methods to be Undertaken

The information collection is the minimum to adequately evaluate the request for respirator certification. The V.7 collection instrument has had only adjustments to improve ease of use by the applicant since the previous submission. The V.8 collection instrument is a translation of the V.7 instrument to a new software package, with no change in information collected.

5. Individuals Consulted on Statistical Aspects and Individuals Collecting and/or Analyzing Data

Each SAF response is entered into a digital system by the NPPTL Records Room personnel. Once entered in the system, subtasks are automatically assigned to appropriate Institute personnel.
