OMB No. 0581-0215

I will definitely be asking for song recommendations for those artists if you don't mind. Today I have been listening to Ra Ra Riot and cannot believe I have never heard of them. I even talked to a friend of mine who shares similar music tastes and he said Ra Ra Riot is his favorite and he was shocked I had not heard of them. Perhaps it is because I am currently living on an island. I lived in DC for three years (moving each year to a different part of the city, I think Dupont Circle was my favorite) for law school, but I moved to Hawaii last fall for a year a one-year clerkship. I am moving back to DC in a month though, which I was hoping to meet people on here for when I get back. I never have really tried a website like this, but once you get out of school it is hard to meet similar minded people. This makes things so much easier.

That is funny that you said Remus was your favorite Harry Potter character. I was going to add him to my list but then I realized I would be just naming every character in the book and that wouldn't be fair. I agree that Draco was an interesting character, though he was certainly an adolescent jerk at times. In my opinion, he had a good heart but he struggled to maintain his image coming from the family that he did. As a result, he never had a choice to become who he was, but he let his own human decency shine through when it mattered the most.

Let's see, as for your career ambitions I think they are certainly admirable as you should always shoot for the stars, because even if you miss you will be happy with where you land (unfortunately that is a quote I stole and I can't take credit for it). I am actually currently a federal employee as well. My Hawaii job (or more properly referred to as my year long vacation) is a one year position as a clerk to a federal judge. It has been an amazing experience, and I have learned so much. When I return to DC, I will unfortunately being working for large private law firm. I just couldn't turn down the money, but I hope to be back with the government at some point in the future. I am thinking either Department of Justice or working for an agency like you (either EPA or DOI). I have two long term career aspirations which are quite different. First, I think I would enjoy being a judge (federal or state). Second, and less likely, I would like to own a professional sports team. The second aspiration would require a substantial amount of up front capital, so if you have any get rich quick schemes please let me know!

I have to head out (my brother and sister-in-law are visiting from Austin) but I would like to ask a few questions in order to keep the get-to-know you process going. First of all I think it is great you are a fan of history and literature, as I am as well. My favorite books are historical fiction because I can get both in one medium. Do you have any favorite TV shows though? I know it is not on the list but I was curious what yours were (if any). Also, how did you end up in NYC? I love visiting that city, and have a lot of good friends who just moved up there.
