First established as a Military Preserve in 1883, a national monument in 1910, then re-designated a national battlefield in 1963. Because the location is somewhat remote, visitors are often unaware of what to expect to properly plan their visit. BIHO is also located in a tourism corridor connected to other national parks such as Yellowstone and Glacier. Question 1 is needed for working with local tourism organization to determine travel route and role of BIHO in regional tourism.
