Participants in the federally-regulated fisheries in the Exclusive Economic Zone of the South Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico, and Caribbean are required to obtain federal permits under the existing permit program for the specific Fishery Management Plans of each region. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, National Marine Fisheries Service (NOAA Fisheries Service) needs information from the applications and associated data collections to identify fishing vessels/dealers/participants, properly manage the fisheries, and generate fishery-related data.

Adjustments, mainly due to changes in response numbers for ICs, account for a net decrease of 11,740. There is a net increase in costs of $38,220. Program changes due to discontinued information collections and reduced permit fees account for, account for a decrease of $238,137. Adjustments, due to changes in permit numbers, increase in postage costs, and some corrections to estimates and documentation, account for a net increase of $276,357.
